How we can change the Shipbuilding Production and Quality of Indian Shipyard and become No 1 in Global International Market

For eg :- In a recent speech by our Prime Minster (Manmohan Singh) on improving the shipbuilding in India. He stated we should change our “CHALTHA HAI ATTITUDE” To “YES WE CAN”

  7. SHIPBUILDING IN INDIA:-

It’s Nice to see a Shipbuilder taking an initiative and in the verge of how to make INDIA a Global market in Shipbuilding?

Indian government and Indian private entities have to play a big role, waking up to the call.

Some of the leading private companies Such as ABG, BHARATI, PIPAVAV, and TEMBA have already started of making huge investment and upcoming shipyard like L&T, ADANI GROUP to uphold the shipbuilding market in country.
Shipyard gets order if they are credible (delivers quality ship on time) and compete in international market with the best shipyard in the world.
Factors affecting the shipbuilding in India are low cost, low productivity, tariff etc. to uphold in the international market . Finally its people who take initiative. Its time now we has Bright Future of India come to one agenda and make our country as Global Leader in Shipbuilding.

  8. hi all,

First of all Sunil, congrats for this unique start you have made. But you have to take care that this blog does not become dead in few days. You have to constantly see that people rather professionals continuously participate to what you have initiated.
Also try to bring out shipbuilding methodologies and techniques such that this blog becomes references for others to benefit.
We can enhance the topics. But please do not let it to be yet another community or site started by shipbuilders which slowly becomes inactive. At the same time ensure that some quality, productive and informative news are hit.

All this can be achieved only when every one of us contribute a bit and chips in from time to time.

    Regards,
    Chirag Joshi

  9. OUTSOURCING

I think in india,We lack in Outsourcing the jobs.

As we see in others countries like South korea, Singapore, Dubai etc. They outsource the job to third party and get the job done within the schedule time.eg ;- Fabrication of Accommodation block including Structure,Piping,Mechanical ,HVAC,Carpentry, Electrical, Painting works Etc.....

So, what is outsourcing? Outsourcing is contracting with another company or person to do a particular function. Almost every organization outsources in some way. Typically, the function being outsourced is considered non-core to the business.

The outside firms that are providing the outsourcing services are third-party providers, or as they are more commonly called, service providers.

The allocation of large work volumes requires clear cut rules and efficient control mechanisms to ensure a transparent and efficient realization of the work packages

"I want people to understand that when somebody wants to work and can't find a job, it says we've got a problem in INDIA that we're going to deal with. We want everybody in this country working.

  10. Automation in every phase will save money. this should start right from cutting to finishing with help of robots. it will help company to finish ship building in less time as of now. it can reduce company overhead by 20-30 %. For example
There is Indian company who supplied robotic cutting machine to US Company which reduces there labor cost by 12% & resulting more focus on assembly & record production in their whole history. Guys we have technologies which can reduces the cost in global market. it directly affect to more orders in pipeline, good trust in market for company & better salaries & facilities to employees.
